Love, love, love Sans Sushi! My sister-in-discovered it when we all moved here (she lived on the East Village in NYC so she is a self-described "sushi snob.") Best sushi around! I love the Ultimate California roll and the Kylie roll. Jackie Chan roll is great too! Also they have delicious miso soup, salads and lots of vegan options for my husband.

Can give Mr Mee's in Fort Myers a run for their money. Very good, fresh ingredients, and a large selection of choices for sushi. Ginger salad is wonderful too! Depending upon how busy they are it can take a little long to get your sushi. They seem to struggle with the help preparing sushi cause I only see 1 person back there most times. Still...the sushi is very very good and I would recommend Sans Sushi any day.

We just moved here about 1 month ago from Kentucky. Tonight was our first night out in the sunshine state for sushi, what a "gem" we discovered! Loved Sans Sushi, so good!!!! Enjoyed talking with owner too. We will definitely become regular's at Sans!
(5)Christine M.
This is by far THE BEST and FRESHEST sushi in Cape Coral - I would say Lee County but haven't been to all. I have been to Blu, but this is a much more relaxed atmosphere. The owners are hands on, which is a huge plus: Kimberly and Michelle are the best wait staff I have ever come across. This restaurant is a hidden gem. I recommend to all!

Great sushi great atmosphere great service made the trip from east ft myers and it was well worth the drive.

The place needs a heavy facelift, however the sushi and presentation was great. I would love to do the interior design for this place because it's worth it. our waitress was so sweet, but we felt bad since she was the only one handling all the customers. It is true that they take shots with clientele, but we thought that was fun and friendly. Our compliments to the sushi chef and our waitress.

Great deal for lunch. 3 rolls, soup, & salad for only $12.95!! Food was good & the service too. Spicy tuna roll was delicious. Sushi pieces were on the small side and the rice was bland for the taste buds.

This is as close to my ultimate favorite sushi joint in Chicago as you can get. In fact I had them duplicate a dish I had pictured and ingredients list. And the chef nailed it. Yay for me This is easily the best sushi in the fort Myers/ Naples/cape area. My only problem with sans is they used to be closed on Sundays. An I was forced to to my daughter niece and nephew all college kids to "poo sushi" aka blue sushi. (Yuk nasty the worse) Thank god sans is now open on Sundays and as a few weeks ago have some ridiculous all you can eat menu for 15 bucks Winning!!!! I'm sad I had to move up north to Tampa because sans was a regular stop for me. Now it's just a special treat.

As another reviewer has already pointed out, whomever is rating this place so favorably has clearly never actually been inside! A classic dingy dive bar atmosphere, duct tape covering holes in the booths and all. Hey, at least the tape they used matched the bench color (that's what the one star is for). As for the food. We tried the famous "Honeymoon Roll". My wife and and both agree, it's anything but a honeymoon. We tried a few other types of sushi as well as a dinner selection, all were far below average.

Great food, good atmosphere, outside table...I like everything about this place!
(4)Kim Z.
Just had dinner here. Ordered the tempura udon. It was good. Not typical Japanese style, as there was broccoli, cucumbers, carrots and mushrooms in the soup as well. Different. But good. Was surprised there was no S&B Curry Powder and that the staff didn't know what that is. (I suppose that is indicative that the Asian staff there isn't Japanese?) But the service was really good and very friendly. Next time I'm in Cape Coral, I'd go back.

The people that wrote excellent reviews must not have dined at the same restaurant as me. The food was pretty good however the service and decor left much to be desired (very dirty and dingy). Saying the service here was unprofessional is an understatement. The owner (or manager?) did not great our table at all and continued to have a very loud conversation and several shots with another table. There was only one waitress whom also took several shots with the other group (and she looked underage). I have never felt more uncomfortable or unwelcome in a restaurant before. I would not recommemd this place to anyone unless the owner cleaned up the place and hired more attentive servers. Again, decent food (only reason I am giving this place a 2 star rating) but terrible service.
(2)Tori G.
Love this place! If they went out of business idk where I'd eat my sushi! They have what's called a "hurricane roll" (similar to crab rangoon)and "golden flake tuna" which is AMAZING! And of course I get the tofu soup. The waitresses that work their are very nice. The chefs get the food done very quick. They owner seems to have his family and friends come now and then. The atmosphere is very relaxed and chill. It always top more than I should here because their food is perfect and they're always on top of their stuff.

I have ordered to go order from here before and it was really good, so I figure we will stop in for dinner on Sunday night. It's about half full around 6:45 pm, we started out with sake and since it was happy hour it was 2 for 1..... Sake was bitter and sour so I switched to plum wine. My boyfriend ordered the pho with sliced beef and Thai spring rolls, the spring rolls are good but the pho was very uneventful, needless to say, never order pho from here again. We ordered a golden flake tuna appetizer, it took 20 minutes to come out, we have 4 rolls and 4 orders of sashimi, we waited for about an hour for our food, they only have one lady behind the sushi bar on Sunday. By the time when our food gets to the table, my soft shell crab was cold and jalapeño rolls was half open......I was so annoyed with the wait, I didn't even want to eat anymore. And the best part was my $113 bill.....not even a glass of wine on the house for our wait. If you don't take care of your customers, they won't return and I am sorry to say that I won't be coming back.

A very long wait for average sushi. From sitting to leaving, it took an hour and a half, split between waiting for our food (understandable on a busy night) and waiting for our bill (mind-boggling and frustrating). The chef's choice sashimi appetizer was a good deal, but included krab stick (I don't consider that sashimi) and a very tough white fish, along with some delicious and generously portioned tuna and salmon. The Thai iced tea was not authentic, too sweet, but my boyfriend liked it enough to order another, once we were able to order it, about 20 minutes after we finished our drinks. When the waitress finally brought us our second drinks, she brought regular iced tea for my boyfriend, which he drank anyway since he was so thirsty. The rolls were priced similarly to other joints we've been to, maybe even a little higher, but don't merit the cost. I don't know if it's like this all the time or if the chef felt rushed on a busy night, but our rolls were sloppy with inconsistent quality through the roll. Don't order take out unless you have an hour to kill. Many parties at the bar were people waiting for their take out orders, those took a hour or more.

Incredible flavor and perfectly combined...sushi in swfl...this is the place! My favorite is jalapeño popper and the honeymoon rolls but everything I have had is great!
(5)Angie S.
Love this place! Angela was a great server and I really enjoyed the sushi here! Delicious!
(5)Colleen N.
The sushi was amazing... I was hesitant to stop in because of a review I read, but it was so crowded and I figured that was a good sign. The sushi was delicious, and the people sitting on either side of me enjoyed theirs as well. I also liked the ginger dressing. I'm not sure if they were missing a few staff persons or what, because it seemed like there were some delays in the dining room. But for a Wednesday night, I'll take it. I would definitely, DEFINITELY visit again!

Went with a friend for the first time to this restaurant. We didn't know if the place was even open because the windows were tinted so much but it helps keep the place cool inside. We almost walked out due to the poor service but decided to try a variety of items because we were interested in finding quality sushi and the added bonus there, Thai. Started with the Tum Yum soup with shrimp which was phenomenal! Perfect blend of spices! We then ordered the ceviche which we believe the owner made. FANTASTIC! Best ceviche I've had since in NYC. Ended with the Linda Sou roll and again, fantastic. The food is to die for and fills you up just enough. Service could've been a better since half the time we had no idea what the waitress was saying due to her talking and walking away at the same time. Restaurant could do with a facelift but since the food was phenomenal, we will be going back. Also reasonably priced!

Great sushi!! Really, really great sushi. The inside is kind of dive'ish but don't let that fool you. The sushi is top notch, it may seem a little pricey at first, but they really; load the fish/seafood on. Might just be my new sushi place. Very friendly service as well.
(5)Kris D.
awesome sushi at a good price. great curry also. family owned and operated and great people. a must try. lunch specials are great value also
(5)Lori W.
Some of the best sushi period. Not fancy, not over priced, just good quality rolls with fresh fish. The Key West roll was super yummy, white tuna sashimi very fresh. Another hidden gem in SWFL. Thai and other Japanese menu options but haven't tried them yet.
(5)Arielle M.
I go to sans at least once a week. I love their 2 for 1 hot sake special. They also have 4$ apps for happy hour that you can't beat. I would definetly recommend Sans to anyone who wants to have sushi/Thai/Japanese in the cape.
(4)Jill C.
Awesome food, great service. Sushi doesn't get much better than this. The staff was amazing....
(5)Brittany B.
Passed perfect food here! Only had sushi tonight but ill try everything soon! Try the ninja roll! Even the simplest as Japanese bagel was fabulous! They have a great happy hour with $4 appetizers and my favorite but one get one hot saki! 5-7!!! Hope my birthday doesn't fall on a Sunday this year cause I want to be here!!
(5)M S.
We LOVE Sans Sushi! They have fresh fish/ingredients! The presentation is wonderful. The only drawback is they have strange hours.
(5)Jessica L.
We were in the mood for Sushi on a trip to visit my mom is Cape Coral. The Yelp reviews were good so we thought we'd give it a shot. OMG, sooo glad we listened to Yelp! Its a small, one room, casual sushi bar. Very comfortable atmosphere for us in jeans and sweatshirts. We ordered a little bit of everything. Got the crab Rangoon, the kanisu, and the golden flake tuna with spicy mayo and eel sauce for appetizers. Main course for four people (all big eaters): ultimate California roll, enter the dragon roll, caterpillar roll, sunshine roll, honeymoon roll, rainbow roll, and an order of chicken cashew stir fry. None of it stood a chance. Everything was gone in less than an hour. Everything was so good. Everyone in my party had a favorite but no one had a complaint. Impressive considering we are all fairly picky. The bill for 4 people: 3 appetizers, 6 rolls, and 1 entree came to $117. For sushi, that's really not too bad. Everything was fresh and tasty. Our server, Chelsea, was great. She made suggestions and got our orders out quickly and kept our glasses full. We couldn't have asked for a better sushi dinner. We will definitely make this our Cape Coral sushi spot.
(5)Nina S.
Sans sushi is probably my favorite sushi place. Not only is the food fabulous, but the servers are great. Really love Angela...ask for her
(5)Mike C.
1st time here. Happened to be in Cape Coral on tour with my band Birthday Candles. Was in the mood for something fresh & light. Classic atmosphere. My server Brandon was on point & very courteous. Sushi was fantastic along with my friend's Veggie Pho & my other friend's chicken satay. Food to price ratio was normal. One disappointment... though Brandon was excellent, I was hoping to get the cuite with the dark hair as my server. Until next time...
(5)Greg P.
We eat Sushi all over the Country and we are often disappointed. It is difficult to find a place for great Sushi when your expectations are high. Well, this place is awesome. The atmosphere is acceptable, but the Sushi is Great. They also catered to our little special requests which were not on the menu. The service wasn't the fastest, but we were okay with that. Each dish that came out was beyond our expectations. If you know good Sushi, you won't be disappointed.
(5)Mike N.
I very much enjoyed the sushi and sake. The staff were very friendly and attentive. There are so many specials its hard to decide what to order, so I went with the 34 piece sushi / sashimi boat for one. It was perfect.
(4)Eric N.
This has become my new go to place for cheap but good Sushi in Fort Myers. Blu will continue to be the choice for higher end fare. Not sure what happened to our old standby in South Plaza--it and Ada's were gone leaving behind only signs and a bit of wall hanging. I had the sashimi lunch and pieces of maguro, hamachi, white tuna and salmon. Fish is cut smallish, rice is a bit dry/not much hint of vinegar, wasabi is from powder, gari comes from a can and carrot is used instead of daikon. No complaints, just the facts. Sans Sushi is nothing remarkable, but they do have Asahi Super Dry in a cold glass, the salad is not drenched in sweet tasting goo and you can sit at the bar and order from the sushi master.
(3)David O.
This place is great for lunch!! Food is fresh. Rice is cooked perfectly. Never ate anything bad here.
(4)James M.
This is my favorite sushi place and has been for over a year now. They do great sushi and are very consistent. I've tried every one of their rolls and occasionally sit at the sushi bar and ask them to create their favorites that are not on the menu for me to try. It is always a great experience.
(5)Connie E.
Very good! A bit dark, but the food was worth it. Good service to boot!
(4)jim r.
The best sushi in Cape Coral is from Publix, period. This place has lots of rolls but almost all have cream cheese! The sashimi and nigiri were just ok. Seriously, nowhere near as fresh as Publix. Weird but true!
(2)Marcel S.
food ok - staff insufficient to mention it immediately, the choice of sushi was good, we like it and we didn't feel bad the day after :-) BUT - our table was dirty and sticky - the service staff was slow - the sushi chef had his little daughter in his arms while preparing the sushis... ?!
(3)Jonathan C.
Not a bad sushi place for Cape Coral, but seemingly cutting a few corners. One gets the "cash-strapped family business" vibe from it. First of all, it is a relatively old building for the area, and has a dingy appearance inside. Everything seemed old and worn, so that it had a hard time appearing clean. My girlfriend and I arrived just before 7:00, the end of the hot sake happy hour, and our waitress helpfully rushed to get our drink order in before 7:00. We were then served a seaweed salad which was basically your standard-issue Costco seaweed salad, but with added iceberg lettuce as filler. It was served in a cocktail glass, which was awkward to share. We requested plates to share the salad and our waitress informed us that we would get them with our sushi order. She was not rude, it was just a minor annoyance. We were served three sushi rolls, the spicy tuna, which literally only contained tuna and was rather bland without the addition of eel sauce. The volcano rolls were underwhelming, consisting of an apparently prepackaged volcano piece sitting atop a roll of plain white rice. The jalapeño popper roll was the best, as it seemed to have actually been deep fried in the restaurant. We did not have a bad time here, but we also really do not feel it justified a 4.5 star rating. As a fellow family business man, I know how hard the life can be. I wish them well and hope they take the opportunity to improve!
(3)Rodi B.
We drove over 20 miles from our hotel to come here and it was worth it . Angela our waitress took the time and recommended the good rolls and took her advice and it was worth it but what stood out the most the lobster roll so as the lion roll . Good stuff
(5)Faith B.
I went in and ordered take out. They were very kind and the rolls were amazing. The atmosphere looked great and if I wasn't travelling alone I probably would've sat down.

Sans Sushi has kicked it up a notch, from exceptional to great. This place is still not yet well enough recognized, but I am confident it eventually will be. Time for a much deserved update, it's been many months since our last visit. I have to be honest, we were concerned about the busy bar next door and thought the noise would detract from a quiet dining experience. It's kept us from going back for a long while. I'm very happy to report that concern was completely unfounded. Our previous server Ding, has since been promoted to the sushi bar and has learned the art extremely well. Our new server of choice is now "PK." If you want an attentive guy who will personally make sure your repast is delivered flawlessly and with courteous table-side manner, be sure to ask for him. Truth is that any server will meet or surpass your expectations, because as I watched the other people on the floor in action, they also appeared to be just as attentive and conscientious. The service here is anything but generic. We made several special requests tonight, and they were all executed without a single misstep on our very large order. (Double thin cut sashimi, rolls served one at a time. minimal rice, etc.) Yes, I'm a bit fussy, but my requests did not cause them to flinch a bit and they took it all in very perfect stride. Since my last review, I wish to note a couple of items NOT to be missed, no other Asian house I know of has anything that compares. FIrst, the special Tuna Roll. It comes with a subtle touch of lemon zest in the interior and it will have you wondering what makes that roll so alluring and unique. Second is the Golden Flake Tuna appetizer. This innovative and creative item is OMG material. A very fresh and generous dollop of perfectly seasoned and chopped Ahi tuna adorns a crispy wafer of ultra thin and still hot wok fried wonton wrapper. The spice, marriage of textures and overall mouth-feel will make you sit up pretty like a dog for more. One more item that impressed once again was the Kanisu, even better than before. The Ahi-Escolar interior literally melts in your mouth amidst the background crunch of a thin crispy cucumber wrapper. Presentation on all of our 8 makiimono rolls, our sashimi plate, and apps were top drawer, in addition to the high product quality. You simply will not find a fresher or more imaginative sushi house in this area, period! In the past, driving a long distance for the best sushi was no deterrent, but, luckily for us this overlooked gem is only a couple miles down the road from where we live! Awesome night out. Now that we know the bar next door presents no negative impact we will definitely be back on a regular basis! Just sorry we punished ourselves by not going back before now. P. S. If you reference some of the other rating sites like Google for instance, you may see a bad review sprinkled in amongst the mostly good to great reviews. What I read in those aberrant postings was totally bogus and without any credibility or merit. It's obvious they are shills for the justifiably concerned competitors in the area that have had it too easy for far too long.
(5)Cindy L.
Had lunch here yesterday. I had the Bento Box with Shrimp Tempura and Pad Thai. My lunch companion had the spicey tuna roll and california roll. My Bento Box was delicious. I'll be back.
(5)Devon M.
Excellent sushi and sashimi!
(5)Tom J.
Great sushi. Awkward service. Volcano special was unbelievable. Hole in the wall type place and you'll be questioning yourself at first but wait it out and you'll be impressed.
(4)Jessica A.
The sushi was good and so was the service. But I was confused by the space - dingy sports bar meets sushi bar. Not a good look.
(3)Andy D.
The food we ordered was fantastic! The salmon skin rolls were delicious (crispy salmon skins and slightly sweet sauce just like I like it) and the Panang Curry dish was awesome! BTW, I ordered it Medium hot but needed to up the heat quotient with more dried chili spice. In their defense, it is smart to spice their food conservatively, as it is easier to add heat than to subtract it from the food. My wife ordered the spicy tuna rolls which were fresh and tasty. The decor was nice but a bit too dark for my taste. Courtney, our server was very pleasant, prompt and friendly. Can't wait to come back for round two!
(4)Jim C.
Super quality. I had the Sushi Lunch and everything was great. Tempura Chicken was also excellent. Sans Sushi definitely deserves their high ratings.
(5)Katie T.
Good service, good rolls, really loved the lion king!
(5)Erica B.
We arrived on a Saturday night at 5pm and the place was empty. We were a little concerned but were quickly greeted and seated. It was our first time here and we were using a Groupon. We ordered 5 different rolls, an appetizer, and Kirin beers. The food was one word - AMAZING. Everything was super fresh and expertly prepared. I would say other than the lackluster ambiance at the time of our visit - it was superb. Give it a try, you won't be disappointed.
(5)Heather G.
I will cone here every time I'm in the cape. I love sushi and they make the best. U have to try the Christmas roll
(5)Sean H.
I read some good reviews about Sans Sushi and was very skeptical. It's not easy finding good places in Cape Coral, especially a sushi place. I was pleasantly surprised by Sans Sushi. As long as you know it's NOT a romantic, well-appointed place, you'll be fine. The door is 20 feet off of Cape Parkway and next to a bar so it's a bit loud, but the food makes up for it. They have a great selection of rolls, better than most places I've been. Service was fine and prices were typical of good sushi places - $60 for four rolls, two beers, salad and edamame. If you want casual and good food, give it a go.
(4)Carly H.
I enjoy Sans Sushi every time I go. It is great food. Service is quick and efficient. The selection of their sushi rolls is vast and well priced. I'd suggest this place to any sushi lover. It is a small quaint place but worth going to. I'd say it's the best sushi on the Cape.
(5)Angel R.
best sushi in Florida so far since we moved here from San Fransisco. sit at the bar! great folks are helpful in what to order. yummy creative rolls.
(5)D'Arcy L.
Ordered some Thai food from here. Was surprised to see how dark this restaurant was when I came into the restaurant. It's like walking into your closet with the lights off! Now to the food: Happy to see each entree came with either the choice of soup or a couple choices of salad. I chose the sesame salad for all three. For my selection I ordered Pad Si-ew with beef, Panang curry chicken and Shrimp stir-fry with basil. All had great flavour and filled our bellies! Portion size was not gi-normus but then again how much food do you really need to eat! We were satisfied and would order again! Sushi looked interesting as it was being prepared so I'd try that next time as well!
(4)Dan K.
Stumbled across this place when another local sushi was packed to the gils (no pun intended) lol. The sashimi platter I had was outstanding! I also noticed that they had 'Pho' on the menu and decided to give it a shot as well..... Bad idea. But then again, I should know better to have ordered Pho at a sushi joint. I came for sushi, and excellent sushi is what I got. Give this place a try.
(4)L M.
Came here over lunch. One server on duty who was moving at a snails pace. Every table was piled with dishes as was the bar. They were out of cream cheese which eliminated 75% of their menu. I wanted to like this place but unfortunately was very disappointed.
(2)L A.
I went to Sans Sushi (formerly Sushiyaki) on Cape Coral Parkway. If you like sushi, this place is the bomb! Although they have Japanese and Thai food on the menu, we opted for the sushi. We started off with the sashimi appy. I have never had sashimi so fresh and soft where it actually melted in your mouth, simply great. We went with four rolls..Spicy mango roll, muscles with crab roll, crazy roll and a spicy salmon with tuna on top. I have to say, I've eaten at some of the best sushi places in the US and Sans is right up there as one of the best I've had, I even place it higher than Nobu. The rolls were fresh and the variety was excellent. Each roll gave you 8 pieces, which is 2 more than traditional rolls. Each piece gives you a totally different flavor. I have been there 2 more times since the original night and I plan on making this a twice a month stop. I HIGHLY recommend this place for the true sushi lovers out there. For those of you who love Blu sushi, give this place a try, it blows them away and coming from a true Blu sushi lover like myself, that says a lot.
(5)Eldiva S.
Very tasty & fresh fare! We are new to this area and were looking for a good Asian place- we found it!!!! We like it 1000 times better than Siam Hut ... Great service too! We had the basil stir fry - well balanced flavors and not cloying sweet like most places with super fresh veggies! The masaman curry was even more delish with good clean white meat chicken...The honeymoon roll with salmon and creamcheese also hit the right spots. This place is a definite keeper ; )
